Charlie, escargot bleu, hypocrisy

Rick got up early to get a copy of the new Charlie Hebdo, but the librarie (newstand and bookstore) we usually use. They had a sign, no copies, no reservations.

We tried the librarie called the Escargot Bleu. They had no copies but took our reservation for a copy.

Yesterday also, the same people who marched for freedom of the press, freedom of speech, arrested 54 people for offensive speech.

Doesn't that contradict what they marched for Sunday????

Many of the leaders who marched on Sunday imprison or kill journalists reporting the truth. T The thought of them there was almost vomit-producing in its hypocrisy.

This is such a tiny proportion of those detained or persecuted for publicizing truth that eh number of 0s behind the decimal point is sickening:
  • Glenn Greenwald's partner was detained in London
  • Amy Goodman has been stopped at the Canadian-American border, her laptop searched.
  • Chuck Todd admits that if he asked hard questions he'd be off the air
  • Two Al Jazeera reporters lanquish in Egyptian girls.
  • A blogger is flogged in Saudi Arabia.
  • Bill Maher who was taken off the air for saying the 9/11 pilots weren't cowards--a true statement. Flying a plane into a building takes courage
  • Phil Donahue was also taken off the air when he was anti Iraq war.
  • A French comedian is arrested for racist remarks
Obama, whose presidency has done more to stifle truth than any other presidency, at least wasn't hypocritical to march. Or maybe it was laziness.

Probably most of the people marching believed in freedom of the press, freedom of speech. Those in the front row, those who lead countries throughout the world give it lip service as they seek to destroy it.

There is NO FREEDOM OF THE PRESS or FREEDOM OF SPEECH in countries that they claim they have it.
