Les Sénateurs* are the old men who sit on a bench and solve the problems of the world. Although who is there may vary daily, there is always several of them there.
With the tabac now occupying the space that the pharmacie vacated, there's a new sign "Millonaire Banco". I know that it refers to the lottery, but I can't help but think that the idea Les Sénateurs are the directors of a millionaires' bank.
Would that it be so.
*Les mamies, the old women of the town, have their own bench but use it far less frequently. They are home preparing meals for Les Senators I'm sure.
