Eating locally

One of the great pleasures of travelling is either trying new foods or if not new, seeing how what one has thought of as a certain nationality's dish is like in the country of its origin. 

Thus we sampled vodka and red caviar, homemade borscht, oliviere (? spelling), dumplings, pancakes and much, much more.

Eating locally while talking with friends adds the condiments to any meal.
