Magic morning

Before dawn Rick said, "Let's go to the beach to watch the sunrise. We arrived while it was still dark, spread our towels and waited. A few teenagers were enjoying a pre-dawn swim and their laughter was infectious. The lights from the port sparkled and as it slowly grew brighter we saw a ship on its way to someplace.

So much pink and so many shades not capturable by my camera, but worth many ohs and ahs.

Then the sun honoured us with its presence. We could almost see it move as it rose from its sea bed as if pulled by a puppeteer with patience to make it move smoothly and slowly.

Rick walked down to the edge and entered the water as if to walk on the roadway made by the sun. He turned a few minutes after this picture was taken to wave and a wave slapped him in the bum.

It was only 7:15 and nothing was open. We decided to walk to the port along the beach front. This year's photo exhibition all have a sea theme: dolphins, schools of fish, whales, etc.

At the port only one place was serving petit déjeuner. The waiter told us there were three formulas: 5.50, 6.50, 7.50. I asked him if we were going to eat the money. It started an exchange which included him saying that he understood Rick and I were a team: I talked, Rick ate and paid.

The croissants were still hot from the oven.

The view like Mastercard says, "priceless."
